Adding Existing Questions to an Assessment and Assigning Point Values

Step 1: Under Course Tools, select Assessments (see figure below). Note: You must be within the Build Tab when working with Assessments.

Step 2: From the main Assessment page, select the Assessment that you would like to add questions to (see figure below).

Step 3: The main page for your assessment will appear (see figure below). Select the Add to Assessment button to add previously created questions or questions that you have imported into the Question Database. Note: Refer to the 'Creating and Adding New Questions to an Assessment' tutorial if you would like to create new questions at this time.

Step 4: From the Add to Assessment ActionLink menu, choose Existing Questions or Question Set (see figure below).

Step 5: The Question Database will appear from which to select questions (see figure below). Select all questions that you wish to add from the Question Database by clicking each question's corresponding check box. Note: To see some questions, you may need to expand a category by clicking the plus (+) symbol to the left of a question category.

Step 6: Click the Add Selected button to add the selected questions to your assessment.

Step 7: You will return to the main page for your assessment (Syllabus Quiz in this example) (see figure below). From here, you can specify point values for your questions by entering the desired number of points into the Points text box for each corresponding question.

Step 8: Click the Update Total button to update the total points for your assessment.
