Editing Assessment Properties

Step 1: Under Course Tools, select Assessments (see figure below). Note: You must be within the Build Tab when working with Assessments.

Step 2: From the main Assessment page, click the ActionLink icon to access the ActionLink menu options for the assessment whose properties you wish to modify. Select Edit Properties (see figure below).

Step 3: The Edit Assessment Properties page will appear (see figure below). From here, you can modify all assessment properties including Title, Description, Item Visibility, and Grade Book Column Name. Note: By default, Item Visibility was set to 'Hide Item' when the assessment was created. Click the 'Show Item' radio button to make this assessment visible to students.

Step 4: Select options for Question Delivery (Deliver questions all at once, Deliver questions one at a time and allow questions to be revisited, or Deliver questions one at a time and do NOT allow questions to be revisited). Also check whether or not to Display Question Titles.

Step 5: In the Display Assessment section, select whether to display the assessment in a New Browser Window or the Same Browser Window.

Step 6: Select the Duration of your assessment (e.g., unlimited, 1 hour, 30 minutes, etc.). Also check whether or not to Disallow answer submission if time has expired.

Step 7: Complete the Attempts section by choosing how many attempts students will have to complete this assessment and checking whether or not to randomize the question set each attempt.

Step 8: Choose how/if to release the Student Score and Statistics.

Step 9: Click on the More Options icon to expand any or all of the following categories: Dates Available, Results Settings, Submission Settings, and Security Settings.

Step 10: Complete each of the expanded sections.

Step 11: Click the Save button to save your changes.
