Accessing the File Manager

To access the File Manager in Blackboard:
Step 1. Click the File Manager link from the Build tab.

 

The File Manager in Blackboard is comprised of a main course file viewing area, a secondary My Files area that can be accessed across all courses, and buttons or links that can be used to manipulate the files and folders in the File Manager:

Creating a Folder


It is important to use folders to organize your materials. A complete course may have hundreds of pages and thousands of files. Using file folders in the File Manager will simplify finding specific files (to make changes, etc.) in the future, and make it easy to transfer overlapping materials into another course.

To create a folder in the File Manager:

Step 1. From the File Manager, click Create Folder located at the top of the File Manager.

Step 2. Type a title for the new folder and click OK. The new folder will be created. To add a new folder within an existing folder, first access the folder you want the new folder to appear in, then follow the steps to create a new folder:
